“A fathomless secret of the cosmic flowings that we call Life is their separation into two sexes.”—Oswald Spengler, Decline of the West

  And then:

“The feminine stands closer to the Cosmic. It is rooted deeper in the earth and it is immediately involved in the grand cyclic rhythms of Nature. The masculine is freer, more animal, more mobile—as to sensation and understanding as well as otherwise—more awake and more tense.”—Oswald Spengler, Decline of the West

Our modern educational system in its headlong rush to a secular empirical rationality and now even ‘AI’ has largely blurred and even erased the distinction between men and women, the masculine and the feminine. In doing so it does a stupendous disservice to both, and to all Life for that matter.

Women, “rooted deeper in the earth” and “immediately involved in the grand cyclic rhythms of Nature,” have a natural grounding that men, who are “freer, more animal, more mobile—as to sensation and understanding,” simply do not and cannot experience.

And therein is the function of myth and religion: a channelling, harnessing and socializing of the male “free” and “mobile” “animal” energies towards membership and identity within the community.

Lacking myth a community lacks cohesion and meaning. Boys and men languish and their energies fly off in every direction like Roman candles. In short, society ‘dis-integrates.’ It fragments into smaller often competing or even hostile groups and alienated individuals. Unaffiliated, these dissociated groups and individuals can easily fall prey to self-serving false prophets who appeal to impressionable boys and men in order to profit from the general confusion.

Today our Western culture has become utterly demythologized.

And the consequences are all around us.

  However, fret not.

  For the myth shall return.

  It always does in Time.

All around us a larger broader myth is ever so gradually taking shape. One that will encompass all Life this time around and situate humankind within that whole.

  Not exactly today or tomorrow.

  But it is coming.

  Be a seed!
