A Matrix

  Belief systems.

  We are all a pray to them. 

  It is part and parcel of being human, an inherent condition of Life. 

  The vast majority of us slide easily and unprotestingly into one system of belief or another from early childhood. We have little choice in the matter and by the time our young impressionable characters are formed it is all but too late to even imagine anything worthwhile outside of our own specific belief horizon. 

  We have been recruited into The Matrix so to speak, though in reality it is merely our Matrix as opposed to other people’s equally valid though sometimes competing Matrix. 

  However, on occasion for one inexplicable reason or another a few of us refuse the recruitment, the indoctrination process. Believe me it is an extremely difficult decision to make as it is typically made well along the path toward full Matrix inclusion. 

  And added to the difficulty of such a decision is what lies ahead once one has refused the proffered birth Matrix membership. For we are communal beings and crave involvement and identity in a group. 

  Ahh, the Shaman-type is such a joyously sorry individual! He recognizes the appeal of the group and often even contributes to the teachings and rites that mold the young into functioning members of the group. But in grasping the group’s inner workings he sets himself apart from the group in a way. 

   And then sometimes having left his own birth group it dawns on him that the communal Matrix that would most suit his deepest nature does not yet exist! 

  Then the Shaman-Type may realize it is up to him to plant the seeds of a new community, a new group and a new Matrix. 

  Something more along the lines of his own inner nature and personal beliefs.
