“When the world gets noisy the wise go quiet.”
Ok, I made that one up. But do you think the truly wise are going to engage in the sort of haranguing debate and argument that passes for public discourse these days? Do you think they have Twitter, or X, accounts, that they share their thoughts so that the world can tear them to pieces in a mad fury of ignorance and spite?
Why would they?
Humankind is so lost and so intent on remaining lost at all costs that the wise have simply walked away. They’ve returned to the living path confident that others one day will finally pay heed and follow on their own living paths.
Wisdom moves with quiet confident serenity. It comprehends and participates in the quiet ways of nature, of nurture, growth, maturity, and yes, decline. Wisdom smiles knowingly at the folly of modernity with all its ideas and artificiality impotently striving to gain the day and impose sterility on nature and humanity.
Wisdom silently walks its own path, one with Nature’s Way, or the Tao as others put it.
Wisdom is one with Life.
Your contemplative prose beautifully conveys the idea that true wisdom often chooses quiet contemplation over the chaos of the modern world. It emphasizes the timeless wisdom found in nature and the Tao, highlighting the harmony and serenity that come from aligning with these principles. A profound reflection on the value of inner peace and understanding. 🌿🌟🙏
Beautifully put Abhishek, and thanks for that, but here at the Omphalos Cafe I am going one step further. And it is the most difficult step to take. Few actually succeed, reach the ‘goal’ you might say. And what’s more, for those who do it is the most difficult thing to share with others, to communicate, even to those others who would aspire towards the ‘goal.’ What I’m talking about is the place, or more specifically the Way of Being, beyond any and all ideas and principles, beyond values and beyond even the teaching of the Tao. It is a oneness with Life, with that which is flowing through every living being on planet earth and no doubt out there somewhere in the galaxy. What I’ve called The Great Passing Through, that which is flowing through us from time beyond recall in the past towards our children and their children after them. Flowing ever onward from and through each succeeding generation. Atman the individual Flow of each living being and Brahman the totality of the Flow of all living beings. Oneness without end. Life.
